Resource: Jackie Burrell and the Emptying Nest

I get an email every week about my young adult kids. Jackie Burrell over at the Young Adults Blog at about.com sends them to me. This isn't a faith-based blog like mine, but it's very practical. It has much to do with kids and college, but there's more than that. It's about parents relating to their young adult children through this new season of emancipation. Jackie will be quoted in my book.

The email I got from Jackie this week is right in step with the back to school activities. Here are some of the blog posts it highlights:

When Younger Siblings Get the Blues

Pretty neat, eh? Yes, Jackie is based out of San Francisco so I don't get as much value from the California references, but they still clearly make the point.

Watching our children launch into the real world is exhilarating and scary. We saturate them with prayer. We intercede for their safety and success. And then someone like Jackie comes along to guide us, saying, "Here's what's coming around the next corner."
