Podcasts I Can't Stop Listening To

Photo Credit: ePublicist on Flickr Creative Commons
Sure, I enjoy music or a baseball broadcast, but when I take in a podcast I feel like I'm doubling my productivity. I'm learning and growing as I knock out the task at hand.

I've tooled around on iTunes looking for new podcasts, but I'm really devoted to a few that keeping paying off. Thought I'd share those with you today.

Learning: What's My Worldview?

Podcasts I Can't Stop Listening To

By Evan Nehring

If you've tracked with me a while, you know I tackle a lot of projects. One of my pastimes while working on this and that is listening to podcasts.

The Hillsdale Dialogues

Hillsdale Dialogues, Larry Arnn

Dr. Larry Arnn, president of Hillsdale College, is an increasing presence in American popular thought. I hope to add to that increase. I have been through all of the available free online video courses offered by Hillsdale and was pleased to discover this ongoing podcast series.

Dr. Arnn believes that America is at a place of historic decision between two distinct paths. He takes sides with the Founders. I can't stop listening.

Ravi Zacharias - Let My People Think

Ravi Zacharias - Let My People Think
I've been writing extensively on worldview lately. I'll be posting on that soon. I've taken a fair amount of inspiration from Dr. Zacharias. One of his PR pieces says, "Helping the thinker believe, Helping the believer think." It's not about becoming purely intellectual. Rather, it's about bring a commitment to truth into our lives of worship and devotion.

The Boundless Show

The Boundless Show
I pop in on this show here and there because I love hearing young adults riff on what it means to follow Jesus through day-to-day life. It's more casual than the previous two I listed, less academic. With a show a week, they have almost 300 archived podcasts! There's a decent chance you can find some scuttlebutt about what you're chewing on at the moment.

WallBuilders Live!

WallBuilders Live!

David Barton and Rick Green push past the stereotypes of the religious right and back to the foundational documents of the the Bible, the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution. These podcasts are daily, 27 minutes long, and right in the flow of current events. If you are an American Christian who believes in the authority of the Bible as a believer and the authority of the Constitution as a citizen, these programs are concise, relevant resources to stay informed.

Michael Hyatt - This Is Your Life

Michael Hyatt - This Is Your Life

Michael Hyatt fuels my aspiration. He shares the passion to embrace God-given dreams and pursue fullness of life! Yes, he's an author/blogger/speaker, so we have that in common. But Michael's podcasts resonate with anyone driving to be all they were created to be.

There are others...

I've tracked for years with the GTD Virtual Study Group. This is a productivity podcast based on David Allen's Getting Things Done system. They are transitioning hosts right now. I'm hopeful the productivity goodness and love will continue

That said, there is also a David Allen GTD Podcast. I catch every new episode but they only drop in here and there. I practice GTD daily.

John Piper also publishes his weekly sermons at Desiring God Sermons Audio. Great stuff...which reminds me of one last resource...

This is an app, not a podcast. It's the Mars Hill app. You can listen to weekly messages by audio or video and Pastor Mark Driscoll is fantastic. I love to pull a video up if I'm having lunch alone. There's a huge archive of series to dig back into. What a resource!
