Kindness: Goodness That Is Sweet
By Evan Nehring
I want to challenge you to character. I want to challenge you to kindness. This is not timidity. This is not spinelessness. This is the bold character of Christ.
Several words are translated “kindness” in the New Testament. They paint a picture of how God intended for us to be kind.
Jesus showed goodness when he cleansed the temple and violently drove out the people who were turning it into a marketplace. But he showed that sweet form of goodness when he was kind to the sinning woman who anointed his feet.
We need to be good in such a way that we can be both kind and strong. The kindness of a friend can save someone’s life. In fact, it’s God’s kindness that saves us. Kindness is active. Kindness is friendship.
